How to turn yourself into a psychopath

Aditya Mishra

Step 1: Dissociating Known Empathy

This is the first and fundamental step towards turning into a psychopath. The greatest barrier to becoming one is the underlying fear that arises out of moral conduct that we have been conditioned to believe in. This moral code has been inscribed into our brain by means of fear, hedging on our inherent uncertainty. The only reason why people do supposedly “good” things or avoid doing the “evil” ones is the irrational fear that the same might one day happen with them.

Donating to the poor, feeding a dog, rushing an injured to the hospital – these are decisions that are on the subconscious level driven by our desire to feel powerful. But on the unconscious level, we undertake these activities because we involuntarily keep ourselves in the position of the subject and make our decisions with some cognitive bias towards ourselves.

“Will I like it if I was hungry and poor?”

“Will I like it if I was killed by a stranger?”

No, you wouldn’t. You are becoming a psychopath to feel powerful and these are not the situations you’d like to be in. Therefore, it’s absolutely essential that you stop putting yourselves in everyone’s shoes to understand their emotions. It’s necessary to have a third-person perspective at all times. But that third-person perspective needs to be as intricate as self-awareness might sometimes be.

Eliminate the fear of the unknown. Understand that it won’t ever happen to you. This must NOT be confused with irrationality and lack of reasonability. If you are in a fight with a giant brown bear there is a huge chance you’ll die. Thus, it’s necessary that you have confidence in your own capabilities and choose your battles wisely.

That is why understanding emotions is a huge part of becoming a psychopath. You’ll be less likely to stop if you know what and how exactly something is stopping you.

If the purpose of your becoming a psychopath is killing – start practising. If it’s verbal abuse – ensure that you wouldn’t be devastated by the same. If it’s indifference – train yourself to adjust to indifference. When you know that whatever you choose to do can’t possibly harm you there is no irrational fear.

There will be times when you’ll face a kind of fear you have never faced before. So, start evaluating the people around you. Understand their psyche. Understand their fears and insecurities. Mentally degrade them for feeling that way.

But most importantly- don’t get excessively confident.
